11th Lord (Labhesh) in 7th House: Gains, Income & Networks for All 12 Ascendants

The 11th lord in the 7th house routes gains, income, friends and desire through partnership, marriage, trade and the wider public. Income arrives through a counterpart here: what these natives gain comes from an arrangement with somebody rather than from their own effort applied directly.

Both houses are kama houses, so this is a desire pairing as well as a commercial one. One ascendant holds exaltation with directional strength, another holds exaltation alone, and one lands debilitated.

This page belongs to the 11th lord in all 12 houses guide. For how house lords are read at all, see the house lords complete guide.

What this page will not do

The 7th governs marriage, and the limits that apply throughout this cluster apply here.

This site issues no verdicts about anybody’s marriage: whether it happens, when, whether it lasts, or anything concerning a partner’s character, conduct or fidelity. A chart describes tendencies in the person whose chart it is and is not evidence about anybody else.

The 7th also carries a maraka classification in the classical scheme. That describes a house’s traditional associations rather than an event, and this site draws no longevity conclusions from it, for the native or for anybody in their life.

Find your 11th lord

The 11th lord is the planet ruling the eleventh sign from your ascendant. Aries has Aquarius, so Saturn. Taurus has Pisces, so Jupiter. Gemini has Aries, so Mars. Cancer has Taurus, so Venus. Leo has Gemini, so Mercury. Virgo has Cancer, so the Moon. Libra has Leo, so the Sun. Scorpio has Virgo, so Mercury. Sagittarius has Libra, so Venus. Capricorn has Scorpio, so Mars. Aquarius has Sagittarius, so Jupiter. Pisces has Capricorn, so Saturn.

If that planet sits in your 7th house, this page is your placement. The kundali calculator gives the ascendant and every house position from the Swiss Ephemeris.

Two houses of wanting

The 3rd, 7th, 10th and 11th are the kama houses, the group concerned with desire, and this placement joins two of them. That is worth separating from the commercial reading, because they operate differently.

The 11th’s desire is for acquisition: something obtained and kept. The 7th’s is for the other person: partnership, and the specific wanting that another human being satisfies. Placing the first lord in the second house puts them in the same territory.

What that produces is a native for whom relationships and gain are not separable subjects. Not cynically, though it can look that way from outside. Structurally: the people who matter most are the people through whom things happen, and the arrangements that provide are also the ones that are personally close.

The 7th is a kendra, which makes the placement structurally strong, and it is not an upachaya house, so the 11th’s usual compounding is less pronounced here than on the 3rd, 6th and 10th pages. What accumulates instead is a set of relationships, and those do compound.

The placement itself

The first thing this placement does is make income relational. Money arrives through an arrangement rather than through direct effort, so the counterparty is the mechanism.

The second is that these natives are good at terms. Both houses concern what one party gives another, so negotiating is instinctive rather than learned.

The third is that the spouse and the finances connect, which the marriage section covers within the limits above.

The fourth is that the social circle and the client list overlap, which is efficient and has the cost described further down.

The fifth is that these natives are drawn to people who have something. Not necessarily money: standing, capability, access. The wanting has a social direction as well as a commercial one.

All twelve ascendants

The 11th lord is a different planet for every ascendant and lands in a different sign here. Every row below is computed rather than quoted. Saturn takes its directional strength in the 7th, and no ascendant holds own sign or moolatrikona.

Aries ascendant is the strongest of the twelve. Saturn is exalted in Libra and gains directional strength in the 7th, which is Saturn’s own quarter, so both available strengths coincide. Saturn also rules the 10th here, so gains, partnership and professional standing are governed by one well placed planet. This is the most durable version of the placement: arrangements that are slow to form and hold for decades.

Libra holds the other exaltation. The Sun is exalted in Aries and rules nothing but the 11th, so the whole gain function arrives at full strength with nothing competing. That gives the cleanest configuration on the page, though without Aries’s second strength.

Pisces gains directional strength, Saturn in Virgo, with the 12th as a second lordship, which joins gain to outflow and makes the terms of any arrangement worth documenting more carefully than usual.

Capricorn ascendant is the one debilitation. Mars falls in Cancer, its debilitation sign, which is the 7th from Capricorn, and Mars also rules the 4th here. Mars presses and Cancer withdraws, so what this commonly describes is a native who agrees terms rather than negotiating them, and discovers later that the arrangement favoured the other side. Check for neecha bhanga and note where the Moon sits as dispositor.

Aries, Cancer and Capricorn have an 11th lord that also rules a kendra, which matters for Raja Yoga as set out on the 11th lord in the 1st house page. Since the 7th is a kendra rather than a trikona, the condition still requires association with a trikona lord and is not met by this placement.

Leo and Aquarius carry the 2nd, which supplies retention. Taurus and Scorpio carry the 8th, directing gains toward joint resources, which is a natural fit with a partnership house. Gemini and Sagittarius carry the 6th.

Virgo and Libra carry no second lordship, the Moon and Sun ruling one sign each, giving the cleanest readings in this series.

Business partnership

The 7th governs partnership commercially as well as maritally, and joined to the house of gain it makes the arrangement the earning mechanism.

The characteristic patterns are a business with a partner rather than alone, income through agency or representation, joint ventures, and a working life in which the deal is the product.

These natives are generally better in that structure than operating solo, and they know it early. The counterpart supplies what the native does not, and the arrangement produces more than either party would separately.

The practical caution is specific and worth taking seriously. Where partnership is the earning mechanism and the partners are also friends, the terms tend to rest on understanding rather than on documents, and this configuration is unusually prone to that because the social and commercial relationships are the same relationship. Written terms agreed at the outset cost nothing when everybody is getting along, which is the only time they are easy to agree. Nothing here is legal or financial advice.

Marriage

Within the limits set out at the top of this page, what this placement describes is worth stating.

The characteristic pattern is that the marriage and the finances are a joint undertaking. Household income treated as common, a spouse involved in the earning, or a partnership in which financial decisions are made together as a matter of course rather than by arrangement.

A second pattern is that the marriage improves the native’s material position, in the broad sense of circumstances rather than any guaranteed sum. That is a tendency the classical texts note and it should not be read as a prediction or as a statement about anybody’s motives.

What follows honestly is a structural point. Where the same relationship carries the personal and the financial weight, a difficulty in either reaches both at once. Couples who keep some financial arrangements formally separate generally find that easier to handle, and that is a practical observation rather than a comment on trust.

What the placement does not describe is a specific partner, a timing, or an outcome. Whether a marriage happens is read from the 7th house and its lord together with Venus, the Navamsa and the dasha sequence, and in KP through the 7th cusp sub-lord, which is a separate calculation from anything on this page.

Where it strains

Nothing earns without a counterpart. Where income arrives through arrangements, a period without the right partner is a period without a mechanism, and solo effort produces disproportionately little.

The relationship carries the money. Friends who are also clients and partners who are also spouses make a falling-out expensive twice over, and there is no separate ground to retreat to while it is resolved.

Wanting is directed at people. Both houses are kama houses, so these natives are drawn toward those who have something, and the line between valuing somebody and valuing what they bring is thinner here than it is comfortable to admit.

Terms rest on goodwill. Instinctive negotiators who are also personally close to their counterparties tend not to write things down, and the gap only becomes visible when the goodwill is already gone.

Career and work

The natural fit is any work conducted between parties. Agency, brokerage, representation, and trade of every kind.

Partnership businesses suit this placement structurally, and these natives are frequently the commercial rather than the technical side of one.

Consultancy and client-facing practice fit, since the relationship is the earning mechanism rather than the wrapping around it.

Import, export and international trade follow the 7th’s older signification joined to the 11th’s return.

Negotiation-intensive roles recur: procurement, deal-making, contracts and anything where terms are the product.

The second lordship shapes direction. Aries has the 10th with exaltation and digbala, the strongest configuration here. Leo and Aquarius have the 2nd, which supplies retention. Cancer and Capricorn have the 4th, Taurus and Scorpio the 8th, Gemini and Sagittarius the 6th, Pisces the 12th.

Health

This placement links the 7th’s regions, the lower abdomen and pelvic region, with the 11th’s, the shins, ankles and left ear.

The practical content is ordinary. Shin and ankle complaints warrant attention rather than tolerance, and anything persistent belongs with a doctor. This site does not predict illness or longevity from any placement, and the 7th’s maraka classification is a traditional association rather than a forecast.

The observation that does belong is favourable. These natives work alongside people continuously and are close to their counterparties, which means somebody is generally positioned to notice a change and comfortable enough to mention it. That is a real advantage over configurations that isolate the working life. The correction is only to treat such a remark as information rather than as something to reassure away.

When it activates

These themes come forward during the 11th lord’s mahadasha, antardasha and pratyantardasha, with the mahadasha carrying the weight. The 11th being an upachaya house, later periods deliver more, though less markedly than where both houses compound.

These periods characteristically bring arrangements: a partnership formed or dissolved, a significant client relationship, a marriage, or a deal that changes the financial position.

The strongest windows come when the 11th lord runs alongside the 2nd lord, so that what arrives is retained, or the 7th lord where they are different planets, which pairs the gain with the arrangement that produces it.

Jupiter transiting the natal 11th lord or the 7th house tends to bring partnership opportunities. Saturn over the same points tests the arrangement and formalises it, which is uncomfortable and generally leaves the terms clearer.

The KP layer

Krishnamurti Paddhati adds timing precision through the sub-lord, stated here as a separate layer rather than mixed into the Parashari reading above.

In KP, marriage is decided by the 7th cusp sub-lord signifying the 2nd, 7th and 11th. The 11th’s presence in that requirement is the point worth carrying: KP holds that a marriage takes place only where the house of gain is involved, on the reasoning that a marriage is something acquired and retained.

That is a genuine agreement with what this page describes, and it is not a shortcut. The cusp sub-lord is determined by the exact degree of the cusp rather than by the 11th lord’s house placement, so a chart with the 11th lord in the 7th can still show a 7th cusp sub-lord that does not support marriage.

Partnership business is read from the 7th cusp with the 11th required for the venture to pay. The KP marriage timing method sets out the framework and the sub-lord theory guide covers the mechanics.

Common misreadings

It does not promise a wealthy marriage. The placement describes finances and partnership as a joint subject. No chart determines amounts, and nothing here is financial advice.

Occupying a kendra is not Raja Yoga. The 7th is a kendra and the condition requires a trikona lord. No 11th lord rules a trikona in any chart.

Maraka classification is not a prediction. The 7th carries that traditional association and it licenses no statement about lifespan for anybody.

Working through others is not dependence. The 7th is a kendra, so this is structurally strong. The counterpart is the mechanism rather than a limitation on it.

Questions people ask

Is the 11th lord in the 7th house good?

Yes. It puts the house of gain in a kendra and makes arrangements the earning mechanism, so partnerships, clients and negotiated deals are where your income comes from. The strain is that nothing earns without a counterpart, so a period without the right partner produces disproportionately little.

Which ascendant has the strongest version?

Aries, with Saturn exalted and gaining directional strength together, and also ruling the 10th. Libra has the cleanest, the Sun exalted and ruling nothing but the 11th.

Should I go into business with a partner?

The configuration inclines strongly toward it and these natives are generally better in that structure than solo. The specific caution is documentation: your counterparties are usually also friends, so terms rest on understanding, and written terms cost nothing at the only point when they are easy to agree.

Does this mean my spouse will bring money?

It describes marriage and finances as a joint undertaking, and classical texts note a tendency toward improved circumstances. That is not a prediction, not a statement about anybody’s motives, and no chart determines amounts.

Why do I only value people who have something?

Because both houses in play are houses of desire, so the wanting has a social direction. The line between valuing somebody and valuing what they bring is genuinely thin here, and noticing it is more useful than denying it.

Why does a business falling-out hurt so much?

Because the same relationship carries the money and the friendship, so a rupture costs twice and there is nowhere separate to stand while it is sorted out. Keeping some arrangements formally distinct is the one thing that reliably helps.

When will this placement give results?

During the 11th lord’s mahadasha, antardasha and pratyantardasha, which tend to bring significant arrangements. Windows pairing the 11th lord with the 2nd lord are where what arrives is actually retained.

Want this read in your own chart?

What your 11th lord also rules decides where the income comes from, and marriage timing needs the 7th cusp sub-lord and the dasha sequence read together rather than any single placement.
