New Love After Divorce: Reading the Second Beginning, and the Season for It

The question after a divorce is asked in the same words as before it, will I find love again, and the chart answers it in three parts that the questioner has usually run together. The aftermath: the twelfth lord’s or Ketu’s season that follows the ending, in which the native is not available to anyone including themselves, and which has to pass before anything else can begin; the reading dates it, so that the native stops trying to skip it. The rebound: the relationship of the eighth lord’s or Rahu’s sub-period, sudden, intense and real, which is the crisis’s own relationship and not the second beginning, and which the reading names so that it is enjoyed for what it is and not mistaken for what it is not. And the second beginning itself, which the chart does not read from the seventh alone, because the seventh described the first bond; it is read from the second house, the family rebuilt, which this site’s second-marriage pages take as the second spouse’s house, timed by the second lord with the seventh lord and Venus and by Jupiter over the second or the seventh, and described by the second lord’s placement as the first spouse was described by the seventh’s. This article gives the three parts with their seasons, nine signatures in a table, the children and the former spouse as houses in the new relationship, the native who does not want a second bond and is not lacking one, the second beginning that is better and the one that repeats, and a chart whose second beginning came in the second lord’s own sub-period.

It belongs to the complete relationship astrology guide. The divorce itself, its signs and its timing, is the troubled-marriage cluster’s, in the divorce signs in the birth chart and separation timing; the second marriage as an institution, its promise, its house and whether it is better, is the marriage cluster’s, in second marriage timing and will a second marriage be better; and this page reads the relationship between the two, the first love after the ending, whether or not it becomes a marriage.

Conventions used. Parashari astrology, whole-sign houses, Lahiri ayanamsa, Vimshottari dasha; the second house as the family rebuilt and the second beginning’s house, with the ninth as the tradition’s alternative and the eighth from the Upapada as Jaimini’s; the seventh for the bond in general and the fifth for the romance; the twelfth as the aftermath and the eighth as the rebound’s house; the children as the fifth and the former spouse as the seventh’s own houses, read as they stand in the new relationship. The second beginning is read as a season and a description, never as a promise; the divorce is not re-read here. Nothing on this page is a remedy.

Aftermath, rebound, or the second beginning: the chart says which season you are in, and when the third one comes.

A relationship consultation reads your dasha table from the ending forward, dates the aftermath so it can be lived rather than skipped, names the rebound's season so it can be enjoyed for what it is, and reads the second beginning from your second house, its lord and its sub-period, with the season in which it comes and the description of who it comes with.

Three parts the question runs together

A native asking about love after a divorce is usually in the aftermath, hoping for the second beginning, and about to meet the rebound, and the reading’s first use is to separate the three so that each is met as what it is. The aftermath is a season, and its length is on the dasha table; it is not a failure of the native’s readiness, and a native pressing for a relationship inside it gets the rebound, since the rebound is what the aftermath’s houses produce when they are asked for a bond. The rebound is a relationship, and it is real; it is also the eighth house’s or Rahu’s, and it has the eighth’s and Rahu’s shape, sudden and intense and reversing, and a native who knows that enjoys it and is not wrecked when it ends. The second beginning is a different event from both, with its own house, its own carrier and its own season, and it comes when they come, which is often later than the native wants and earlier than the native fears. The three are read in order from the dasha table, from the sub-period in which the marriage ended forward, and the reading produces three dates: the aftermath’s end, the rebound’s season if there is one, and the second beginning’s window, with the sentence that the second is not the third, which is the sentence most natives in this position have not been given.

The aftermath: the twelfth lord’s season, and why it cannot be skipped

A marriage ends in a sub-period, and the breakup and separation pages read which: the twelfth lord’s, the eighth lord’s, the sixth lord’s or Ketu’s, or the junction between major periods. The season that follows the ending is the aftermath, and it is usually the rest of the sub-period the ending fell in, plus the next if that too belongs to a twelfth or eighth lord or Ketu: months to two years in which the native is not available, in which the relationship houses are quiet because the ending’s houses are loud, and in which the native’s heart is doing the twelfth’s work, loss, release and the private life; the twelfth’s whole reading is in the twelfth lord in the twelve houses, and the months after any ending in Moving On After a Breakup, which applies to a divorce with one addition, that a divorce’s aftermath is longer because the second house, the family, is also being dismantled. The reading dates the aftermath from the table, and says why it cannot be skipped: the second beginning’s carrier is not running yet, and nothing the native does in the aftermath brings it forward; what the native does in the aftermath is live it, rebuild the second house’s material, the home, the money, the table, and the eleventh’s, the circle, which are the two houses the second beginning will need. A native who is told “your aftermath runs until such a month, and then the carrier begins” has been given permission to be unavailable, which is often the reading’s whole gift.

The rebound: the eighth lord’s or Rahu’s relationship, real and not the second beginning

The rebound is the relationship that begins in the aftermath, or just after it, in the eighth lord’s sub-period, in Rahu’s, or under Rahu’s transit over the fifth or seventh, and it has the shape of its house: sudden, intense, unlike the marriage, with a partner from outside the native’s married life, and it reverses when its season ends, which is the sub-period’s or the transit’s end. It is real, and the reading says so, because natives are told by their friends that it is not, and it is the relationship in which the native learns that they can feel again, which is the eighth’s transformation doing what it does. It is not the second beginning, because it is carried by the crisis’s house and not by the second’s, and the reading says that too, and gives the date the season ends, so that the native enjoys the rebound for what it is and is not wrecked by its ending, which is otherwise the second loss in two years. The rebound that becomes the second beginning exists, and it is the one in which the second lord’s or seventh lord’s sub-period arrives while the rebound is still alive and takes it up, which the carrier rule of this cluster reads; it is rare, and the reading says how rare, and reads the two charts for whether this one is it. A rebound in a chart where the aftermath has not passed is the one to be gentlest about, since it is the twelfth’s loss looking for the eighth’s intensity, and it ends when the twelfth’s season does.

The second beginning: read from the second house, not the seventh alone

The seventh house described the first bond, and it still describes the native’s capacity for a bond and the seventh lord’s sub-periods still carry bonds; but the second beginning after a marriage has its own house in the tradition this site follows, the second, the family rebuilt, the household re-founded, the table set again, and the second lord and the second house’s occupants describe the second beginning as the seventh’s described the first; the second-marriage page sets out the doctrine, with the ninth as the alternative some lineages use and the eighth from the Upapada as Jaimini’s, and the placements of the second lord are read in the second lord in the twelve houses. The reading of the second beginning therefore opens three houses: the second, for the promise and the description; the seventh, for the bond’s capacity and the seventh lord’s periods, which carry a second bond as they carried the first; and the fifth, for the romance, since a second beginning that is a romance before it is a household begins there. A second lord in dignity, unafflicted, in a kendra or trikona, with a connection to the seventh or to Venus, is the chart whose second beginning is promised and good; a second lord in the sixth, eighth or twelfth, or with Ketu, is the chart whose second beginning is difficult, late, or not wanted, and the reading reads which. The second house is also the money and the speech, which is why the second beginning is so often bound up with the household’s finances and with what the native can say about the first marriage, and the second lord’s condition reads all three at once.

Describing the second partner: the second lord’s placement

The second lord’s house describes the second partner as the seventh lord’s described the first, and the descriptions are read the same way. The second lord in the seventh gives the second partner who is a bond first, the marriage that is a marriage from the start; in the fifth, the second partner who is a romance, and the second beginning that stays one; in the ninth, the partner from far, from another tradition, or met on a journey; in the tenth, the partner of standing or met at work; in the eleventh, the friend who becomes the second partner, the commonest description after a divorce; in the third, the partner from the neighbourhood or the sibling’s circle, or met through a message; in the fourth, the partner who is a home; in the first, the partner the native chooses for themselves, plainly; in the sixth, eighth or twelfth, the partner who is a task, a crisis or far, and the reading says which. The second house’s occupants colour it: Venus in the second is the second partner who is a pleasure and a comfort, Saturn the older and steadier one, Jupiter the one the family approves of, Rahu the outsider, Ketu the one who asks nothing. The Navamsa refines it, and the Upapada, which is the marriage’s own arudha, is read for the second marriage from the eighth from it, as the Upapada guide and the Upapada calculator compute; the second-marriage page reads that layer. A native given the second lord’s description before the second beginning recognises the partner when they come, which is the reading’s most useful and least believed sentence.

Timing the second beginning

The second beginning comes in a carrier’s sub-period, and after a divorce the carriers are three: the second lord’s, the seventh lord’s and Venus’s, with the eleventh lord’s for the friend who becomes the partner, and the reading marks all of them on the table from the aftermath’s end forward. The strongest season is the second lord’s sub-period with the seventh lord’s or Venus’s inside or beside it, the second beginning’s own planet with the bond’s; the next strongest is the seventh lord’s sub-period after the aftermath, the capacity for a bond reactivated; and Venus’s sub-period is the season of being wanted again. Jupiter’s transit gives the year: over the second, in Jupiter through the second, the year the household is rebuilt with someone in it, and over the seventh, in Jupiter through the seventh, the year the bond is offered. Saturn’s transit over the second, in Saturn through the second, is the two and a half years in which the household is rebuilt alone, and a second beginning does not come inside it, which is the aftermath’s transit as much as its period. The reading names the window as a season of months, and it names the rebound’s season separately, and a native who has both dates knows which relationship is which when they come, which is the whole point of the page.

Most charts after a divorce have the first row now, the third row next, and the fifth or sixth later, in that order, and the reading’s use is the three dates that separate them.

The children and the former spouse, as houses in the new relationship

A second beginning after a divorce is rarely between two people alone, and the chart reads the others as houses. The children are the fifth, and the fifth lord’s condition and its relation to the second lord say how the children stand in the new relationship: the fifth lord with the second lord, or in the second, gives the children joined to the rebuilt household, the blended family that shares a table; the fifth lord in the sixth or twelfth from the second lord gives the children as the new relationship’s dispute or loss, the season in which custody, distance or the children’s refusal is the subject; and the fifth lord’s sub-period is the season the children’s part in the new relationship is decided. The former spouse is the seventh’s own houses and the eighth, the first bond’s continuing life: the eighth lord’s sub-periods and Saturn’s transit over the seventh are the seasons in which the former spouse is present in the new relationship, through the children, the money, the law, and the reading names them so that the couple do not read the former spouse’s reappearance as the new relationship’s failure. The new partner’s own children, where there are any, are the fifth from the seventh, the native’s eleventh, and are read as the circle the native joins. The second-marriage page reads the blended household in its own right; this page adds only that the second beginning is a relationship inside a set of houses that were already occupied, and that the reading which names the occupants by house has given the couple the map of the first year.

The native who does not want a second bond

Some natives after a divorce do not want a second bond, and the chart distinguishes the ones who do not want one from the ones who are in the aftermath and think they do not. The chart that does not want one has the second lord with Ketu or in the twelfth, Ketu on the seventh, or a lagna lord in the twelfth with the ninth strong, and its native builds the second house alone, the household, the work, the children, the practice, and is complete; the reading says so, as the no-love-life page says of the chart that never wanted the bond, as a description of a life and not a deficit, and it says it against the family, which usually has an opinion. The chart that is in the aftermath and thinks it does not want one has the second lord sound and the twelfth lord’s sub-period running, and its native will want one in the second lord’s sub-period and should be told the date so that the not-wanting is not made into a decision; the two charts look identical from inside and are as different as a season and a shape. The native who does not want a second bond and is told the date of one has been misread, and the native who wants one and is told they never will has been misread the other way, and the second lord’s condition against the sub-period is the whole of the distinction.

The second beginning that is better, and the one that repeats

The marriage cluster’s page on whether a second marriage is better reads the question in full; this page reads its beginning. The second beginning that is better is the one whose second lord is better placed than the seventh lord was, whose season is a carrier’s and not the eighth’s, and whose partner matches the second lord’s description rather than the seventh’s, which is to say a different kind of partner from the first; the couple who have the reading before the second beginning recognise the difference and the ones who do not sometimes choose the seventh’s partner again. The second beginning that repeats is the one in which the signature that ended the first marriage stands on the second house or its lord as well, Saturn on both, Rahu on both, the twelfth lord touching both, and the reading names the repetition before the second beginning so that it is entered knowing: a native told “the second lord carries the same Saturn the seventh did, so the second beginning will test you in the same way, in Saturn’s sub-periods, and this time you know what the test is” has been given the second marriage’s best chance, which is foreknowledge. The repetition is not a sentence, any more than the karmic axis is; it is the chart teaching one thing again, and the second beginning that repeats and ends differently is the one that learned it.

A worked chart: the second lord’s own sub-period, six years after the decree

A Taurus lagna woman, particulars altered, whose marriage ended in Jupiter-Mars, Jupiter being her eighth and eleventh lord and Mars her seventh and twelfth: the ending’s sub-period belonging to the planet that is the bond’s lord and the departure’s lord at once, inside the crisis’s major period. Her chart: Mercury, lord of the second and fifth, in Libra in the sixth, a friend’s sign, with Rahu beside it, aspected by Jupiter from the twelfth; Venus, the lagna lord and lord of the sixth, in Virgo in the fifth, debilitated, with the Sun, lord of the fourth; Mars, lord of the seventh and twelfth, in Cancer in the third, debilitated, cancelled by the Moon in a kendra; the Moon, lord of the third, in Aquarius in the tenth; Saturn, lord of the ninth and tenth, in Capricorn in the ninth, its own sign; Jupiter in Aries in the twelfth with Ketu. The first bond’s lord, Mars, in the third and debilitated, had described the first husband, restless, from the neighbourhood, and the marriage’s ending had come as the breakup pages read it, in his own sub-period. The second lord, Mercury, in the sixth with Rahu, in Venus’s sign: the second beginning as a working partnership, met through work or a dispute, with an outsider, and joined to the lagna lord by sign, which was the reading’s promise; and the second and fifth sharing a lord, which was the children’s.

The reading was given eleven months after the decree, in Jupiter-Rahu, when she asked whether she would find love again and had, she did not say, already begun to. Step by step: the aftermath had been the remainder of Jupiter-Mars, five months, and had passed; Jupiter-Rahu, two years and five months, was the rebound’s own season, Rahu’s sub-period inside the eighth lord’s period, and the relationship she had not mentioned was in it, with a man met through her lawyer’s office, from outside her married life, intense and unlike the marriage; the reading said so, and gave the date Jupiter-Rahu ended, and said it was real and was not the second beginning. It ended in that month. Saturn’s major period followed, the ninth and tenth lord’s, and Saturn-Saturn, three years, was the standing and the tradition, the household rebuilt alone, Saturn transiting her second house for most of it; and Saturn-Mercury, the second lord’s own sub-period, six years after the decree, with Jupiter transiting Gemini, her second, was the second beginning proper: a man from another country met through her work, the sixth house’s setting and Rahu’s origin, the family rebuilt, the marriage, abroad, with her children joined to it in the fifth lord’s own way, since the fifth lord is the second lord. The reading, given six years earlier, had said: the rebound now, and its end date; the household rebuilt alone in Saturn’s first three years; the second beginning in the second lord’s sub-period, six years on, with an outsider met through work, the household rebuilt abroad, and your children joined to it because the second and fifth share a lord. It had been right about the man’s origin, the setting, the season and the children, and wrong about nothing she could find, which she said was the first time astrology had done that, and which was the second house read for what it is.

Frequently asked questions

Will I find love again after divorce according to astrology?

In almost every chart, yes, in three parts that the reading separates: the aftermath, the twelfth lord’s or Ketu’s season after the ending, which has to pass; the rebound, the eighth lord’s or Rahu’s relationship, sudden and real and not the second beginning; and the second beginning itself, read from the second house, the family rebuilt, and timed by the second lord’s, seventh lord’s or Venus’s sub-period with Jupiter over the second or seventh. The reading gives the three dates.

Which house shows a second relationship or second marriage?

The second house, the family rebuilt, in the tradition this site follows, with the ninth as the alternative some lineages use and the eighth from the Upapada as Jaimini’s; the seventh still describes the capacity for a bond and its lord’s periods still carry one, and the fifth carries the romance. The second lord’s placement describes the second partner as the seventh lord’s described the first, in the eleventh the friend who becomes the partner, in the ninth the one from far, in the tenth the one of standing or met at work.

How long after divorce will I find a new relationship?

The aftermath first, which is the rest of the sub-period the ending fell in plus the next if that too belongs to the twelfth or eighth lord or Ketu, months to two years, with Saturn’s transit over the second or seventh as its transit; then the rebound if one comes, in the eighth lord’s or Rahu’s season; then the second beginning in the next carrier’s sub-period, the second lord’s, the seventh lord’s, Venus’s or the eleventh lord’s, with Jupiter over the second or seventh as the year. The window is a season of months and the reading names it.

Is a relationship soon after divorce a rebound?

If it began in the aftermath, in the eighth lord’s or Rahu’s sub-period, or under Rahu’s transit over the fifth or seventh, it is the crisis’s own relationship: sudden, intense, unlike the marriage, with a partner from outside the married life, and it reverses when its season ends. It is real, and the reading says so; it is not the second beginning, which has its own house and carrier, unless the second lord’s, seventh lord’s or Venus’s sub-period arrives while the rebound is alive and takes it up, which is rare and is read from both charts.

How will my children fit into a new relationship according to the chart?

The children are the fifth house, and the fifth lord’s relation to the second lord reads how they stand in the rebuilt household: the fifth lord with the second lord or in the second gives the blended family that shares a table, the fifth lord in the sixth or twelfth from the second lord gives the season in which custody, distance or the children’s refusal is the subject, and the fifth lord’s sub-period is when the children’s part is decided. The new partner’s own children are the fifth from the seventh, the native’s eleventh, the circle the native joins.

What if I do not want another relationship after divorce?

The chart distinguishes the native who does not want one, with the second lord with Ketu or in the twelfth, Ketu on the seventh, or a strong ninth with the lagna lord in the twelfth, who builds the second house alone and is complete, from the native in the aftermath who thinks they do not want one, with a sound second lord and the twelfth lord’s sub-period running, who will want one in the second lord’s sub-period and should be told the date. The two look identical from inside and are as different as a shape and a season.

Will a second relationship be better than the first?

Its beginning is better when the second lord is better placed than the seventh lord was, the season is a carrier’s and not the eighth’s, and the partner matches the second lord’s description rather than the seventh’s, a different kind of partner from the first; it repeats when the signature that ended the first marriage stands on the second house or its lord as well, and the reading names the repetition beforehand so that it is entered knowing, which is the second marriage’s best chance. The full reading of whether a second marriage is better is the marriage cluster’s page on it.

Three dates from the ending forward: when the aftermath ends, when the rebound comes and goes, and when the second beginning is due.

A relationship consultation reads your dasha table from the sub-period the marriage ended in, dates the aftermath, names the rebound's season and its end so it is enjoyed for what it is, reads your second house and its lord for the second beginning's promise and the partner it describes, and gives the window in which it comes, with your children and the former spouse read as the houses they are in the new relationship.
