The money planets and the money houses
Mercury is the ledger: calculation, accounts, audit, the numbers reconciled and the report written. Every finance chart has Mercury connected to the money houses, and the strength of that connection says how natural the arithmetic is. Jupiter is the lender and the trust: banking as an institution, insurance, credit, the money advanced on faith and returned with interest. Venus is wealth handled: the treasury, the fine judgment of value, the comfort side of money and, with Rahu, foreign exchange. Saturn is the institution, the long horizon, the actuary’s tables, the auditor’s discipline and the regulator. The Sun is the state’s money, the central bank, the revenue service and the treasury officer. The Moon is the public’s money, retail banking, liquidity and the branch counter. Mars is risk, the trading floor, recovery and collections. Rahu is speculation at scale, derivatives, the newest instruments and the technology of payments. Ketu is the quantitative analyst, the forensic accountant, and the auditor who finds what was hidden.
The second house is what is kept: accounting, savings, the balance sheet, the banker’s core. The eleventh is what is gained: income, investment returns, the network that finance runs on. The sixth is lending, debt and credit, the house of the loan and the house of employment. The eighth is other people’s money: insurance, inheritance, taxation, the fund managed on someone else’s behalf. The fifth is the market’s gamble, speculation and the intelligence that reads it. The seventh is the market as counterparty and the broker’s house. The tenth is the profession. The ninth is fortune and the fund that grows. The twelfth is the foreign bank and the loss booked.
The signatures of a finance chart
Mercury connected to the second or eleventh is the first mark of the profession, and Mercury with the Sun in either, or in the tenth, forms Budhaditya yoga, the analyst’s authority. Jupiter connected to the second, sixth or eleventh gives banking and lending; Jupiter in the sixth is close to a definition of the banker, the lender’s planet in the lender’s house. Mercury and Jupiter in connection give finance as a discipline, numbers with judgment. Venus connected to the second gives wealth handled with taste, the treasury and the private bank. Banker or trader: two different charts
The banker’s chart lives in the second, the sixth and the eighth, with Jupiter and Saturn prominent: money kept, money lent, money held for others, at an institution’s pace. The trader’s chart lives in the fifth and the eleventh, with Rahu, Mars and Mercury prominent: money risked, the market read fast, the gain or the loss booked by the afternoon. They are temperaments before they are jobs, and a banker’s chart on a trading desk is miserable in a way that a salary does not fix, while a trader’s chart in a branch is bored in a way that becomes dangerous. The chart that holds both, Jupiter on the eighth with Mars on the fifth, is the fund manager’s, risk taken on other people’s behalf with an institution’s discipline behind it, and it is the chart the industry pays best.
This distinction is about the career. The CA and the bank examinations, read as timing
Chartered accountancy is a marathon with Saturn’s shape: years of articleship, examinations that most candidates attempt more than once, and a qualification that opens doors for forty years. The attempts go best in sub-periods of Mercury, of the sixth or eleventh lord, and of Saturn when Saturn is connected to the second or sixth, with Jupiter transiting the second, sixth or tenth as the trigger, and the articleship years are Saturn’s whatever the dasha says. A chart with a strong Mercury and a weak Saturn clears the papers and struggles with the grind; the reverse clears the grind and struggles with the papers, and the reading says which.
The bank examinations, the probationary officer and clerical tests, are competitive examinations for the middle sector, the state’s ownership with the market’s methods, and they are read through the sixth and eleventh for the competition and the Sun and Saturn for the institution, with the fit between a chart and that sector treated in Government Job or Private Sector?. Other people’s money: the eighth house
Most finance work is custody, and custody is the eighth house. Jupiter, the Moon or Saturn strong in the eighth, or the eighth lord dignified, gives the person institutions trust with what is not theirs: the fund manager, the trustee, the insurer, the tax officer. The reading has one delicate part, and it is read for care rather than accusation: an afflicted eighth or second with Rahu, Mars or a debilitated Mercury marks sub-periods in which errors, temptations and disputes over money are likelier, and a person in custody of others’ funds should audit themselves harder in those stretches, keep the paper clean and avoid the informal arrangement. The rise is the eleventh lord’s, with Jupiter transiting the eleventh, and the years of the largest income are Jupiter’s sub-periods when Jupiter touches the money houses. The move from execution to judgment, from the ledger to the advisory, from the desk to the fund, is Jupiter’s and the eighth lord’s. The hard years for anyone near a market are the nodes’ transits over the fifth and eleventh and Saturn’s transit over the second, when the institution squeezes and the market turns, and a trader’s chart should know those dates before the market teaches them. Finance in the D10
The Dasamsa confirms the profession when Mercury or Jupiter holds a kendra, when the D10 second or eleventh is occupied by a money planet, or when the D10 lagna is ruled by Mercury, Jupiter or Venus. Jupiter in the D10 eighth is the custodian; Rahu in the D10 fifth is the trader; Saturn in the D10 second is the auditor and the regulator. It does not say whether anyone should buy or sell anything, and a reading that uses a finance chart to advise on the reader’s own investments has left this method for a worse one. It does not promise the CA finals, the bank examination or the analyst’s charter; it names the attempts to invest in. It reads custody windows for care and never as a judgment on character. It names a role as a lean, and the industry, the market and the hiring cycle decide the rest. It rests on the birth time, since the second, fifth, sixth, eighth and eleventh are whole signs and a lagna one sign wrong turns a banker into a trader on paper. And it should say, to the person with a Dhana yoga and no finance signatures, that wealth and the finance profession are different readings and that theirs is the first, which is the better one to have.
