A month each year: why Jupiter becomes combust
The Sun passes Jupiter once every thirteen months or so, and for about two weeks either side of that meeting Jupiter lies within eleven degrees of it. The ephemeris for 1950 to 2010 shows 55 combust spells, and they are remarkably uniform, every one lasting between 28 and 30 days. Jupiter was combust on 7.3 percent of days in those sixty years, which is where the figure of one person in fourteen comes from.
A combust Jupiter is always direct, because the Sun can only overtake Jupiter when Jupiter lies beyond the Sun as seen from here, and that is also when Jupiter is at its greatest distance and hidden in the Sun’s glare. The same month has a name in every Hindu almanac. The tenth house deserves a note. At twenty-four he joined the chambers of a senior advocate as a junior, and for the next nine years his research and drafting went into cases argued under the senior’s name, a combust Jupiter serving a king whom the chart itself identifies with the courts. At thirty-three, in Jupiter-Sun, the senior was elevated to the bench, and much of the practice passed to him. At thirty-five, in Jupiter-Moon, the fifth lord’s sub-period, he opened chambers of his own.
A Leo ascendant woman.
