Krishnamurti Paddhati is not merely an interpretive art but a system with internal logic that can be modeled mathematically. The Cuspal Interlink Theory provides a framework where events are determined by whether certain houses connect to other houses in supporting or negating relationships. This framework operates with almost boolean clarity: if conditions are met, the event occurs; if not, it does not.
Understanding this geometric logic makes KP learnable, testable, and applicable with consistency.
The House as Node
Imagine each house as a node in a network. The 12 houses form a connected system where each node can influence others. In this model:
Each house has a Sub-Lord, which acts as its “controller.”
That Sub-Lord signifies other houses through its position, star lord, and ownership.
These significations create “connections” between the original house and the houses the Sub-Lord signifies.
When we ask “Will the 7th house matter (marriage) happen?”, we trace the connections from the 7th cusp Sub-Lord to see which houses it reaches. The pattern of those connections determines the answer.
Supporting and Negating: The Dual Pathways
For every life event, KP defines two sets of houses:
Supporting houses: When the relevant cusp’s Sub-Lord signifies these, the event is permitted.
Negating houses: When the relevant cusp’s Sub-Lord signifies these, the event is denied or obstructed.
The negating houses are typically the 12th from the supporting houses. This follows the principle that the 12th from any house represents the loss or negation of that house’s matters.

The Boolean Logic
The prediction follows logical operations:
IF the cusp Sub-Lord signifies ONLY supporting houses, THEN event = YES (clear positive)
IF the cusp Sub-Lord signifies ONLY negating houses, THEN event = NO (clear negative)
IF the cusp Sub-Lord signifies BOTH supporting AND negating houses, THEN evaluate strength:
Which significations are at higher levels (occupation vs ownership)?
Which houses are more numerous in signification?
The dominant pattern determines the outcome, possibly with complications.
Signification Strength Weighting
Not all significations carry equal weight. The four signification levels create a hierarchy:
Level 1 (Planet in star of occupant): Weight = 4
Level 2 (Occupant itself): Weight = 3
Level 3 (Planet in star of owner): Weight = 2
Level 4 (Owner itself): Weight = 1
If the Sub-Lord signifies the 7th house at Level 1 (weight 4) and the 6th house at Level 4 (weight 1), the supporting signification is stronger. Marriage happens despite some negating influence.
This weighting allows quantitative comparison when significations conflict.
The Network Trace
To analyze any cusp:
1. Identify the cusp Sub-Lord.
2. Note which houses the Sub-Lord occupies. This is a Level 2 signification of those houses.
3. Note the Star Lord of the Sub-Lord. The Star Lord’s occupied houses become Level 1 significations. The Star Lord’s owned houses become Level 3 significations.
4. Note the houses owned by the Sub-Lord. These are Level 4 significations.
5. Map all significations against the supporting/negating framework for the question.
6. Weigh and conclude.
Example: Marriage Analysis
Question: Will native marry?
7th cusp Sub-Lord: Mercury
Mercury occupies: 5th house (Level 2 signification of 5th)
Mercury’s Star Lord: Venus
Venus occupies: 11th house (Mercury gets Level 1 signification of 11th)
Venus owns: 2nd and 7th houses (Mercury gets Level 3 signification of 2nd and 7th)
Mercury owns: 3rd and 6th houses (Level 4 signification of 3rd and 6th)
Mapping:
Supporting houses signified: 11th (L1), 2nd (L3), 7th (L3) = weights 4 + 2 + 2 = 8
Negating houses signified: 6th (L4) = weight 1
Conclusion: Strong supporting weight (8) versus weak negating weight (1). Marriage is clearly indicated.
Timing Through the Network
Once promise is established, timing uses the same network logic:
Marriage occurs when the Dasha-Bhukti-Antara lords together signify 2-7-11.
The Mahadasha lord provides the major energy.
The Bhukti lord focuses that energy.
The Antara lord triggers the specific event.
If at any level the operating lord signifies negating houses more strongly than supporting houses, the event is delayed to a different Antara or Bhukti.
Compound Events
Some events require multiple cusp analyses:
Love marriage: Requires 5th cusp (romance) AND 7th cusp (marriage) both showing positive significations.
Foreign job: Requires 10th cusp (career) AND 12th cusp (foreign) both showing positive significations.
Childbirth abroad: Requires 5th cusp (progeny) AND 12th cusp (foreign) both favorable.
The probability of compound events is the product of individual probabilities. Both conditions must be met.
Failure Mode Analysis
When predictions fail, the mathematical model suggests troubleshooting:
Wrong birth time: The cusp positions are incorrect, leading to wrong Sub-Lords. See birth time rectification.
Incomplete signification mapping: A signification was missed or misweighted.
Incorrect house assignment: The question was mapped to the wrong primary cusp.
Free will intervention: The native made choices that operated within the chart’s permission structure differently than expected.
Systematic failure analysis improves future accuracy.
Algorithmic Implementation
The Cuspal Interlink model can be implemented programmatically:
Input: Chart data (cusps, planet positions, star lords, sub lords)
Process: For any cusp, calculate Sub-Lord significations at all four levels
Compare: Map significations against supporting/negating houses for the event type
Output: Yes/No with confidence weight
This algorithmic nature is why some researchers explore computerized KP analysis. The rules are explicit enough to code.
The 12th-From Principle
The negating houses follow a consistent pattern: they are the 12th from the supporting houses.
12th from 2nd = 1st (loss of family expansion)
12th from 5th = 4th (loss of progeny joy)
12th from 7th = 6th (loss of partnership)
12th from 11th = 10th (loss of gains fulfillment)
This geometric relationship is not arbitrary. It follows the principle that the 12th house from any reference point represents the dissolution or expenditure of that reference point’s significations.
Beyond Binary: Gradation
While the system produces yes/no answers, gradation exists:
Strong yes: Only supporting houses signified at high levels.
Weak yes: Supporting houses dominate but negating houses have some presence. Event happens with difficulties.
Marginal: Supporting and negating roughly equal. Outcome uncertain; may depend on Dasha timing or free will choices.
Weak no: Negating houses dominate but supporting has some presence. Event unlikely but not impossible.
Strong no: Only negating houses signified. Event does not happen.
Conclusion
The Cuspal Interlink Theory provides KP Astrology with a geometric, almost mathematical foundation. Events are not divined through intuition alone but calculated through house connectivity patterns. This structure makes KP teachable, testable, and consistently applicable.
